Multi-sensory Learning Methods

Purpose Statement:

The purpose of this study is to determine if multi-sensory learning methods will increase the alphabetic knowledge abilities in preschool aged students.

About:

This action research was centered around four preschool students, ranging from three years to five years old. All of the four students are on Individualized Education Plans and receive special education services. These four students need extra support throughout their preschool day to ensure they are learning to their best ability. While these students have varying abilities, letter recognition and sound recognition activities were implemented during center time activities to increase the amount of letter names and sounds they know.
